Writer's Block: A rose by any other name

I do like my birth name. Many of my friends know the full thing, too. (The IRS and the State of Maryland, however, sorta know the full name, but don't know how to get the whole thing in their databases. Silly entities.)
However, I like my nickname, given to me by my dad when I was three days old, even better.
I am sure of this because I have spent time academically and professionally answering to the birth name, and while it works...it's not as much of "me" as the nickname. And I have only the ONE nickname--I tried out one or two at faire, and decided it wasn't worth it. I am who I am, whether playing at faire or elsewhere. I am not transparent, but when you ask for me, me is what you get. I am...just...me.
And me is defined as that nickname.
