imjustlori: (knitting)
First off, I know a lot of newer knitters out there. Cat Bordhi and Lorna's Laces have teamed up to make it easier to learn new techniques, with "The Cat's Ahah" yarn. Cat Bordhi uses a multicolor yarn in her YouTube demos (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), and this yarn makes it easier to see what's happening between and with stitches. The lady's an extremely talented knitter, and a very entertaining teacher. I can't recommend her videos enough.

Second, I've been working on one knit project alone--and I know why. I'm hiding from the screwed up heel in the Second Dragonsocks. However, this means that I've finished a good part of my Dad's scarf. It's currently about as long as one arm, and I have about 2/5 of the first skein to knit up. I'll keep at this until either I decide it's long enough, or run out of yarn. Dad wears more muffler-like scarves than six foot things, so I might stop at one skein. We'll see when I get through what's left.

(lovely posed shot, and the stretched from my shoulder to my fingers shot)

I think that when I've finished this scarf, I need to get back to my son's sweater. I have half of the fronts and the sleeves to go, then the finishing and I think a collar. I paused because I need to see where I have to start the shaping, which means measuring and scattering a few markers across the fronts. I will have time this weekend to pause, breathe, and think about such things. Like a heel I have to rip back and start over. *sigh*

However, in the meantime! Pretty green one-row scarf! Yay!
