So where did you go for dinner?

Updated list follows, but I'd love to continue to update the list as the season continues. Any new recommendations from y'all? Tweakings of the places on the list as it stands? Where did you go for dinner, and did you like it? (We went home early and cooled down, then ordered takeout from RH&B, in case you were wondering.)

As always, ask, and I will email you the updated original. Debating marking the places that also do "to go" or as us older folks call it, "take out", for those who want to pick something up on their way to the shower in the hotel or home.

Do you know if any of these places takes reservations? or someplace moderately nearby that does? My sister is bringing her family, and they, plus Rich, Corin and I, plus maybe Sean and Eliza will make a party of 10 or so... and she's really not into sitting around and waiting to get called (lives in Boston, and they always call ahead for a table, never go anywhere that won't take reservations. I was shocked when I found that there were restaurants that wouldn't: it's a different culture around here.) I'd like to smooth the way to a pleasant gathering, if I can...

Hm. Best way to find out is to call...and I'm the local, so I'll do it.

Narrow the list for me please--what type of food/price point are you looking for?

If you want CLASSY, there's another that's not on this list that I would recommend to you, that ONLY takes reservations.

Nope: I warned Mary that I wouldn't have time or location to shower: I promised I wouldn't stink, but beyond that, I'm going to be an inch thick in dust. Casual is just fine. I think that since we'll have a couple of younger teens that a place with some plainer fare (chicken, a burger,or such) would be most appreciated, so I'm not considering the Melting Pot f'rinstance. Price point really makes no difference.
Thank you so kindly for the offer to call! I appreciate it no end.

Killarney House takes reservations. The atmosphere is lovely. The food is very good. Nice wine list too. They also have gotten use to the Dancing Pig group hitting them on Sundays so garb isn't going to phase them.

Oh and the photos of the food, just so very tacky and not a good representation at all. Their fried oysters are some of the best I've had.

do you think Jalapeno's is too fancy for after-faire dusty people? the website says reservations recommended. do you think that's necessary for saturday or sunday after faire?

Reservations recommended EVERY night. ESPECIALLY weekends.

As for the dust factor...hmm...I'm thinking with a change of clothes, you'll be fine. Even better, ask about the back room, and let's get a gaggle of people together!
