Down to 1.5 spinning projects

Last night I finished spinning the singles of the angora/corridale blend. So soft. So brown/grey. Tonight is Knit Night, so they'll have an extra day to rest before I start plying. As always, one bobbin has more on it than the other--one day I'll invest in a good kitchen scale to balance my fibers before spinning so that I don't have as much waste.

I'm pondering what to put on the wheel next--I think it might be the purple that my swap partner gave me. Or the purple with sparkles that the other swap partner gave me. I need to spin both of these up.

Yesterday I also started the gusset on the heel for my March Sock Club socks. I'm not getting them done this month by a long shot--but I'm going to try for before the Spring Fling next month.

And I've gotten out the irtfa'a to start working on again--I'd love to have *that* past the shoulder shaping before Fling. So I can take it and show the designer. And get her to sign my pattern. Because I'm that much of a geek.

Beyond those two knit projects, I have the never-ending afghan squares sittng about for when I don't want to do anything else. I have a nice pile of them and really want to start putting them together, but I can't remember if I bought yarn for that when gettting ALL the yarn for the afghan squares, so I'm stuck gathering squares until I get closer to the end. I also need to think about how I want to put them together. I-cord? Crochet? Whipstitch? Blanket Stitch? So many options.

Speaking of crochet, I added a crochet project to my favorites the other day--a tunesian crochet basic shawl. It has good shape, I have a tunesian crochet hook, and know someone who is willing to teach me. The pattern is in a magazine (crochet, of course), so once I have that I'll raid the Cascade 220 stash for learning purposes, then I'll plot for the shawl. Maybe something for faire. I don't know. Hee! I could blow the minds of the County Fair judges and enter it there. They wouldn't know what to do with it. *giggle*

So, I'm down to one and a half spinning projects, and still just the three knitting projects. With the garden ramping up, and the fabric projects I have lingering, I think I will keep to that number. That's enough.

Now to finish those socks...
